Urban Ventures provides a wide range of services related to supportive housing for people with special needs, including families exiting homelessness, chronically homeless, and people living with mental illness. Urban Ventures provides:
- Project design consulting for the unique needs of the residents
- Comprehensive development assistance, including property selection, feasibility analysis, budget preparation, securing financing, and management of construction draw process
- Public policy recommendations for efficient and effective use of public resources to for supportive housing
Clients
Bethlehem Haven (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania): Conducted a review of federal policy and made strategic recommendations for a transitional housing program considering programmatic redesign to Permanent Supportive Housing and accompanying renovation of their existing transitional facility.
DC Department of Housing and Community Development: Redesigned multifamily underwriting scoring system to prioritize Permanent Supportive Housing. Educated underwriting staff on the evaluation of permanent supportive housing programs.
Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless: Managed the development of Cordell Permanent Supportive Housing in Bethesda, MD, the conversion of an office building into 40 Single Room Occupancy units for individuals exiting homelessness. Responsibilities included managing the development team, preparing development and operating budgets, obtaining construction and permanent financing, advising on physical and programmatic design, and managing the construction draw process.
